Dance & Performing Arts Treatment

The Performing Arts include dance, music, theater, circus-arts, and more. Performing artists train extensively at their unique skill, often from a young age and for hours a day, and have high demands for performance including intense or long show runs, touring, and late nights, in addition to the pressures of personal expectation, performance role within a group, and competing for roles or seats.  Performing artists face unique schedule demands of seasonal performances, ongoing career positions, or intermittent gigs.  Being an artist often requires pushing through fatigue and injury, sometimes putting performance over health.  We know you can't always just rest or take a break and expect to heal.

Performing Arts Medicine is so much more than injury treatment.  Its postural stability and spinal support unique to a concert violinist or a head-banging rock drummer.  Its diaphram and pelvic floor function for a singer.  Its identifying the demands of the movement vocabulary for each different modern dance piece. Its not just neck and back adjustments; its foot and hip and rib and jaw adjustments.  Its not just flexibility, its stability and cross-training and nourishment.   If you are a performing artist, your body is your tool, and your art relies on it.  We know that you know your body best, and we're here to speak your language and understand the highly-developed skills you expect of your body.
